Hedera Donates Cross-Ledger Protocol Code to Linux Foundation
Hedera's Hashgraph contributes CLPR to Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust Labs, opening bridgeless blockchain interoperability to wider developer access.
Hedera's Hashgraph division has contributed its Cross-Ledger Protocol (CLPR) to the Linux Foundation's Decentralized Trust Labs, a move designed to broaden developer access to a new approach for connecting disparate blockchain networks without relying on traditional bridge infrastructure.
The code contribution positions CLPR as an open, community-accessible protocol, allowing developers across the industry to experiment with and build upon the bridgeless cross-ledger technology. By routing the project through the Linux Foundation — a well-established neutral steward for open-source infrastructure — Hashgraph signals an intent to grow the protocol beyond its own ecosystem.

Alongside the code donation, Hashgraph is actively recruiting participants for its Cross-Ledger Early Adopter Program. Accepted participants gain full access to a Hashgraph-hosted testnet environment, enabling hands-on testing of the protocol before broader deployment. The program represents an early opportunity for developers and organizations to shape how the technology evolves.
Bridgeless interoperability has become an increasingly important goal in the blockchain space, as conventional cross-chain bridges have repeatedly proven vulnerable to exploits and operational failures. A protocol that eliminates the bridge layer could address longstanding security and efficiency concerns in multi-chain environments, though independent validation of CLPR's approach remains to be seen as the early adopter program matures.
